Summer Nail Trends

summer nail trends

Summer is that time of the year that gives you a feeling of freedom and holiday; if you’re, like me, working, and not taking any days off. To make up for working and not going to some exotic location right now, how about some holiday on your nails? No matter your style, I’m sure that this will brighten up your mood while you’re typing away at your desk 😉

Here’s 5 summer nails that are rather simple and are easy to do, I promise!

Pastel Nails

I consider those nails to be the most elegant ones that also are very versatile. Can go with any type of outfit, no matter where you are. The only problem that I have with those nail polishes is that I have to apply 2-3 layers to get the same color I see in the bottle. But in the end it’s worth it and actually lasts longer. I’m talking about peach, lavender, mint, lime, baby blue hues. My obsession right now is finding the perfect hue of peach (fingers crossed).

Neon Nails

If it’s summer, then it’s neon – the brighter the sun, the brighter the nail polish. If you feel that your nails look too much as if you colored them with a highlighter, you can do only your toenails. Tip: if you want the neon colors to pop, apply a white layer of nail polish beforehand. I totally recommend neons when you’re going to the beach or the swimming pool. I think they look great under the water and on tanned skin.

Aztec Patterns

For some time, I was obsessed with leopard nail polish. Now I am obsessed with Aztec patterns. The models vary from simpler models you can apply on one finger on each hand, to more complicated designs, one for each finger! The choice is yours.

Nautical

Every summer, nautical trends are in. Navy blue, white and red stripes everywhere, polka dots, anchors, bows, boat steering wheels and so on. You can do something simple as having navy blue nails, to adding some white stripes here and there, if you are not into complicated manicures.

Tropical Nails

I don’t know about you, but nothing says summer and beach more than having some palm trees on your nails! If you are not courageous enough to draw them yourselves, like me, it’s okay I’m sure you can find some stickers! Out of all the nail art, I think that this is one that can be worn only when it’s summer. You can still have navy nails, if you skip the anchor, in winter, but palm trees when it’s snowing? Maybe if you’re getting ready for holidays in exotic places, yeah. For a better effect, please use a sunset like background, in pink, orange and yellow gradients.

The aztec nails are my favorite, but I can barely paint a solid nail. They look beautiful though!

Summer—with its festivals and vacations and pool parties—is always a good excuse to grab the blindingly bright polishes you’d steer clear from all the other months of the year, but if you’re feeling colors that are a little less in-your-face predictable, you’re in luck. Click through to see the best of the season’s new color collections, from pastels with heft to toned-down, creamy neons to decorative top coats.
